Subscribing to RSS feeds

I have been looking at the Masterclass forums, and John Johnston has flagged up a new podcast EdtechroundUp which sounds as if it might be useful. It has a blog and a wiki as well as the podcast.
I should be able easily to dowload and listen to the first podcast, but I want to find out how to subscribe to it so I can be alerted to new podcasts when they appear – it sounds as if it won’t be a regular schedule. So I will need to learn how RSS works, how easy it is to use within the school network and whether it is even allowed.
