Just to wish you well in your final few days…it’ll be an emotional time I’m sure, but we’re all thinking of you and can’t wait until you’re home safe. Sara, it is pretty cold now, the house is too quiet (even with Julia!) and there is a recession – world sales of conditioner have plummeted!!! :)
Luv and more hugs from Mum Dad Joolz Gran and Krysia and Rodger too xxx

Had such a good time in Bethany didnt want to leave. The children were so cute and considering some of the stories we were told about their past its amazing how happy everyone is. Me and amy wanted to take Deborah and Joanna home – show you pictures later, they are the cutest ever! There was an amazing story about one boy who was a child soldier in Congo before he came to Bethany. He carried a gun and killed people. He even saw his own mother get shot. This is such a horrific story and yet he is such a lovely young boy. Love to everyone xx

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in Bethany Village. It was very memorable, and the people were very friendly. Last night we got a farewell party from all the people in the village- they sang some tradtional Ugandan songs and we had a go ourselves too! We then tried “Flower of Scotland” again; this time it went a little better! At the end, they all thanked us for all we had done during our time in Bethany, including painting one of the houses and providing the money for building a new sports ground (the equipment arrived, and the field is looking pretty good. It is the size of a real football pitch!). Now we are off to Nambutamba for 2 nights and we are looking forward to it very much.

Just back from 3 nights in Bethany. We watched the playing field being levelled with the machinery we paid for. We painted the outside of a house where the orphans live. Per house there is one mum and 15 – 18 children. We visted each house in groups so none were left out and we went for devotions each night which consisted of singing, praise, prayers, preaching and much more. As always everyone was very welcoming. It was a very out-doorsy place but the scenery was brilliant. we were righht on the edge of lake victoria, we could sit on the jetty out in the water at nights. In the houses the mums had a couple of their own children then up to 15 orphans. The whole experience was excellent. Maybe in the future we will visit again.

Genny. xx
