Over the years, the first writing essay for S.4 pupils has been about School. We usually planned to do it ( and also the speaking test ) before the end of June. It starts when pupils are still officially in S.3. Pupils have 3 essays and speaking tests to perform in school and we can concentrate later on the reading and listening parts of the exam, before the prelims ( taking place in December ).
Here is the main “body” of the writing in French, bringing the pupils to a General level with around 100 words. Adding other details would be for Credit pupils ( 150 words minimum ) :
