GLOW GROUPS are a great way of enabling people with similar interests to come together to share information, collaborate, communicate and develop their learning.
If you are thinking about setting up a GLOW group remember to consider these factors:
* The aim/purpose of the group
* How does the content of the group fit in with school/local authority development plans?
* The Educational Potential of the Group.
* How it can help raise attainment and help pupils develop their potential.
* How it can help pupils develop within the 4 capacities of CfE.
* How is it improving communication and collaboration?
* Can all educators/pupils/parents and other relevant parties access the group easily from their educational setting and home?
* How can I tell if the group is achieving its aims?
* Can the resources within the group be accessed and used by people in other schools?
I read an interesting article today about how GLOW was being used in an Educational Setting. Caroline Gibson’s article will hopefully inspire us and give us ideas about how we can use GLOW in our classrooms.
