P1a did an assembly about animals and asked a question. How many baby animals can you name??

Today P1a did their assembly about animals. It was very impressive that primary 1s managed to learn their lines, do poetry and sing songs. We learned a lot about animals: where they live, what they move like and what they do. Well Done Primary 1s!

The P6s will get helper training today to train to be helpers in p7. We learn new games to teach the little children next year. It sounds lots of fun and the p6s are looking forward to it.

The primary 5s went to Lynch sports centre to particapate in the rotary games. Primary 5b, unfortunately didn’t go through to the next round but primary 5a did. Primary 5 received a certificate for their effort.

Laura and Zoe, two of our primary 7s went to Longhaugh nursery this week. They were teaching the nursery some of their dances for their clubs. The nursery really enjoyed it and thought they were very good. We hope to have them dancing to us so we can see the hard work they put in.

Yesterday, all of the Primary 7 children went to the McDonalds SFA Super Festival at Dawson Park. It was organised by Niall, an SFA coach. There were many pupils from lots of schools across Dundee. The main aim was to promote fitness and good sportsmanship. The festival lasted from 11:30 to 3:00. Everybody had great fun and it was a great day out.

In Scotland there is a maths challenge which primary school pupils can take part in if they wish. A few people in our school took part in it and Alexandra P7 got bronze and Agnejo in P5 got gold. He did so well that he will be presented with a certificate in St Andrews University. Well done!

Today at assembly, P5a, P5b and P6a did their African drumming performance. Lots of people got to conduct including me. It all went well and we mostly played in time. We split into groups and one group showed examples whilst the other performed and then at the other assembly we switched over. Later we will be getting a CD with us playing on it.

Forthill has a new traffic light system which all classes are trying out. This is how it works; At the start of the week, every child in the class is at green which means that they are not on a warning. If they do something they shouldn’t be doing they will get told to “turn their card”, that means you will turn your card from horizotal to vertical. If you do a wrong again you will be on amber. At the end of the week those who have stayed on green all week will be rewarded with an extra 15 minutes of playtime on a Friday.
If you have any questions put a comment on this post.
