Mrs Divvit has come back after being off the first term. We are now working on our link to Malawi.  We have been writing our final drafts of our letters to them. We are hoping to do some fundraising later in the year. Our letters will hopefully be posted this week. The house and vice captains have been chosen for all the houses. Netball, Athletics, Hockey, football, funky feet and basketball teams have all been started, there will also be a Rugby team starting soon.

Last term Primary 7’s went to Winmarliegh Hall a fun activity place to go for a week.

There is lots of different fun things to do like Zip wire, night line, Jacobs ladder, abseiling and loads of other things as well. We stayed there for four nights in bedrooms with friends of our choice. It was horrible weather and the food wasn’t very good. It was a mansion turned into a holiday camp for primary school children. We all had a great time.

On the 20th of January 2009 Primary 7 were visited by Major Ronnie Proctor and Mr Fraser Brown of the Black Watch. We were told about the wars and other interesting stuff about the 20th Century. We also got to put on clothes and hold weapons ranging from the Boer war back in 1900 up to Afghanistan and Iraq in the present day. It was a really interesting afternoon and I think everyone enjoyed it.

Recently P7b have been doing a project on rocks and minerals and we have been doing lots of experiments. One of the experiments we did was we got a bottle, some sand and a wide tin box. First we put the bottle in the tin box then we patted the sand all the way round the bottle until it was completely covered apart from the lid. After that we put baking soda, red food colouring and fairy liquid in the bottle. Finally it came pouring out the top and kept going even when we came back from playtime.

Just now p7b and p7a in Ancrum Road Primary are building a website. The website will have lots of information about famous Scottish people past and present who have made a difference to the world. People like William Wallace, Robert Burns, Robert Bruce, Alexander Graham Bell, Sir Walter Scott, Sir Alex Ferguson and lots lots more. If you have any ideas how to improve the website or know of any Scottish people please  leave a comment.

We had made a volcano.

On the 28th October. Ancrum Road football team went to the Disc to play St Peter and Pauls. It was in the Junior Sports Cup. The final score was 10-4 Ancrum. So we are through to the next round. The goal scorers were Craig with 4 goals, Cain with 3, Lloyd with 2 and Jake with 1.
The team: In the goal was Ross, in defence we had Reece and Ryan, in midfield we had Kyle, Craig, Brad, Nicole and Jake, upfront we had Cain and Lloyd but Lloyd also played in midfield.
We are also playing St Josephs on the 31st of October in the league so we have to win it because it is our first league game.

Our class went on a trip to Winmarleigh hall for 5 days. We were on the bus for 5 hours. The best thing I did was All Aboard. I never liked the food there. There were seven of us in my room. I had £10 to spend. We had a disco. It was good but not as good as the school’ one. When we went on the bus we watched a movie called Nanny McFee and Matilda. I enjoyed the trip.
