On Wednesday afternoons for the past two weeks the primary 6’s from the P5/6 class have been working with Owen Pilgrim in Balgay Park . With Mrs Magson and other parent helpers along to help us do fun things in the Forest .

On the first week : Wednesday 2nd June it was like a kind of get to know you week. We collected materials on the way up Balgay Hill like rope, feathers, sticks and much more. We sat in a circle and Owen told us a story.

On the second week : Wednesday 9th June again we collected big, small and medium sized bits of sticks and wood. We took it up the hill with us and sat in our little circle again. Again Owen told us another story about the creator and we had to think of an adjective beginning with the first letter of our name to describe ourselves.
After we had a talk about how strong wood is we made Dens out of the wood we had collected. We went in groups of three to do this, the groups were : Megan , Rachael and Courtney and we worked with Rachael’s dad, Paul. The other group was : Kai ,Aysha and Paige who worked with Kai’s dad. The other three boys who were Jack, Calum and Matthew they worked Mrs Magson and Calum’s mum.

At the end Owen decided on three prizes for each Den they were : The group with Rachael’s dad had the prize for the biggest most challenging den, the group with Kai’s dad got the prize for most beautiful den and the last group got the prize for most creative den. Overall I think we all enjoyed ourselves working with one another , Owen and the parents who helped out, hopefully next time the primary 5’s from our class will join us in the Forest and we will all have a wonderful time.
