The two Primary 7 classes got a taster from Ancrum Outdoor Centre to do team building. Team building was great fun and it improved our team skills. Team building is all about working together in teams and trying to have fun and solve things!
When we arrived at Lochee Park the outdoor centre had everything prepared for us. We got put into groups and then an instructor came with each group. There were many stations which took a lot of teamwork to master. Here is a little paragraph of what we did at the stations.
At one station there was a cone about 7 metres away and you had to get there by standing on carpets and not touching the grass. You had to try and get your whole team onto a carpet! At another one you had 4 tubes and you started off with two tubes (BIG TUBES!) and had to let a ball roll down. Once you got past the first tube you had to run down to the bottom of the second tube and keep the ball running until you got to the end of the course. If you dropped the ball, you had to go back to the beginning.
One of the other ones was a mine field. You had to cross the mat without stepping on the mines and we didn’t know where the mines were. If you stood on the mines you went to the back of the line.
There was one like bowling. There was lots of wooden skittles with numbers on them. If you hit the a skittle with 9 on it you would get 9 points. But if you hit two skittles, then you only get 2 points. The first person up to 20 was the winner.
Another one was they tied us in a knot with a partner and we had to untangle ourselves.
There was lots more but we can’t name them all. When it turned 3 O’Clock we all had to go back to school and get ready for coming home. Everyone who did team building had great fun and enjoyed it very much.
